As I have been the executive producer of a many TV-segments including ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT GERMANY, and over 2000 episodes of THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, and a feature movie in Hawaii, I have been around the block a few times. I have extensive knowledge of the Hawaiian islands and its people. Producing in Hawaii is different. First and foremost a pleasant experience. Let me show you how. If you want to see what I did in the 80's and 90's, please click here:
I have been a media professional since 1972, when I began my career at famed RADIO LUXEMBOURG as a DJ. In 1985 I became the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER of RTL. In 1994 moved to Maui and settled there. In 1999 I produced the movie GONE TO MAUI with Pat Morita. Since I help producers like me to get to the right sites and services.
Kualoa Ranch at Kaneohe Bay. Chinaman's hat is that small island in the distance. The mountain range of Kaaawa where many movies have been shot, like the chase of JURASSIC PARK.
Some call our weather the best on the planet. I agree. The year around mild climate (never hot, never cold) is also enjoyed by a seemingly endless variety of tropical flowers like this Haleconia.
They calls it "JAWS", one of the largest waves on our planet. It appears on the windward side of Maui in the wintertime. Only the few, the brave dare to be towed in with jet skies.
With so many different climate zones and landscapes from the ocean to the mountains, from tropical rain forests to deserts and volcanoes, Hawaii is a true paradise for film makers.
